With the ongoing issues inherent in Endurance turbines, Spectrum were approached by an owner in North Wales, to survey their E-3120 Endurance Turbine.
The survey highlighted cracks to the bedplate and excessive movement on the hub sleeves. The owner asked Spectrum to supply and install a new Gen2 bedplate, new hub and new taper sleeves.
The nacelle was removed, stripped down and all components rebuilt onto the new bedplate. Downtime on the turbine was 20 days, which would have been less had the weather not stopped us from re-installing the nacelle on day 16.
Spectrum is pleased to say the turbine is now fault free and working perfectly. As a result of our endeavors, Spectrum has now been appointed as the O&M provider for the foreseeable future.
